Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Working with Jennifer and the Lone Star Birth team was amazing! Me and my husband didn’t have a lot of experience with babies and knew that we were not going to have a lot of support during my son’s birth. The classes provided gave us so much more confidence as well as the knowledge we needed to feel less anxious during labor. Jennifer was great at giving advice, helping my husband feel more comfortable with medical decisions at the hospital, and was a real advocate for me during labor. Highly recommend Lone Star Birth.

The classes were so informative, going over every option available to us. Whether we wanted to go without medication, with medication, or if a c-section was necessary. It made us feel prepared going into delivery no matter what happened.
On the day of our birth, Jen came to our home and helped me labor using a variety of tools for pain management. She made sure I was eating and drinking regularly. She coached my husband on how to comfort me. She made sure he was resting as much as possible, too. She let us know when we should head to the hospital and followed in her car. Once we got there, she stayed through shift changes and made sure the new set of nurses were aware of our wishes for delivery. She was our voice and our steady hand throughout the whole process. Once I delivered, she helped me with breastfeeding and our first latch. It was so fast and easy. She made sure we had the experience we wanted. Jen and her team are worth their weight in gold and we have told everyone who is having a baby to get a doula because of our experience. Thank you, Jen!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jen was a blessing to our family and we couldn’t be more grateful for her. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and took time to answer all of our (many) questions. Her impressive history and network made it easy to gather resources for pediatricians, lactation consultants, and anything else a first time parent doesn’t realize they need until they’re in the thick of it. We had a beautiful physiologic birth in the hospital- in large part because of Jen’s support and guidance. I will recommend Jen to anyone. She has left an imprint on our hearts forever and will be our first call with any future pregnancies we are blessed with.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was by the grace of God that I discovered Lone Star Birth. I heard having a doula/midwife by your side during labor was one of the keys to a healthy and happy delivery. I personally wanted to find someone that was a Christian, just so that our values and beliefs aligned. However, I believe Jen would be of great support to anyone regardless of their religious beliefs as she is respectful and honors boundaries.

From day one, Jen graciously offered her time and attention to answer my questions and concerns. When I felt I was asking an obvious question or that I was bothering her, she never once made me feel that I was an annoyance. She offered a wealth of knowledge and tools along the way that made me feel fully equipped to experience one of the toughest (yet beautiful and rewarding) experiences of my life, and to take care of my newborn.

On the day of labor and delivery, Jen really came through for me and my husband. She knew exactly when I should go to the hospital, and helped me stick to my birth plan when I tried steering off of it due to obvious normal labor pain. I fully trust if something was seriously off, or I or the baby was in danger that she would have offered the correct course of action. In my situation, she knew I just needed some extra encouragement, coaching, and distraction to push my baby out as intended and hoped for. I'm so thankful she helped me stick to my plan.

I cannot recommend Lone Star Birth enough, and I'm grateful people like Jen exist. My experience with my regular nurse wasn't the best as it lacked care and personal attention, but I felt confident moving forward because I had Jen by my side. She makes you feel seen, heard, and treats you humanely during your most vulnerable season. You can tell this isn't just a business but a heart-led mission to help and support women and families.

Thank you, Lone Star Birth.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jen was an absolute life saver in my natural hospital birth as a first time mom! She supported us through my labor and delivery and completely changed my experience. She provided counter pressure through every single contraction and I couldn’t have done it without her! She prayed over us throughout labor and was such a source of peace and grounding throughout the entire process. We didn’t get to meet Jen prior to going into labor, but she came 100% prepared knowing our birth plan and helping us to achieve it. She seemed to know exactly what I needed in terms of counter pressure and words of encouragement without me needing to say a word. Jen was such a blessing to have by our side to achieve the natural birth I dreamed of. Her providing me the physical comfort I needed allowed my husband to be the emotional support I needed and be able to be 100% present during the birth of our daughter. Thank you so much Jen!! ❤️

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From prenatal classes to delivery to postpartum, we couldn't recommend Lone Star Birth enough! The classes were so helpful and informative. We tried a couple online classes and hospital classes first and these blew them out of the water. Jen has so much useful and science-backed information that helped us to prepare perfectly. She also checked in on us right when we needed it to make sure we were feeling ready as the due date approached. When delivery day came, she was at the hospital within an hour of texting her. She coached me through a beautiful unmedicated birth, despite having been induced. I was nervous the induction would ruin my plans but she guided me the whole way and helped me meet my son in the best way I could have hoped for. She helped coach my husband on how best to comfort me as well and they were an all-star team! She took a few photos and videos during delivery (after asking permission) and I could not be more thankful to have those to help me remember such a special day. We absolutely plan to call her again once we're ready for the next baby!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jennifer was an incredible source of support throughout my pregnancy and especially during and after labor. She is very reassuring, has a positive outlook, and remains calm collected and sure-minded during the entire labor process. I wanted extra support during labor to help me with my goal of a VBAC as a second time mom, as I never had the chance to fully labor with my first and wasn’t sure what to expect. Jennifer was very supportive and positive about the success of a VBAC for me and was responsive throughout my pregnancy and into labor. When the day came, I was able to labor at home and feel confident and secure with Jennifer by my side. She was very reassuring and helped me to change my mindset and think positively and remain calm throughout active labor and transitioning. She also gave instructions to my family members who were home and wanted to be involved to help them understand how to support me. They all had great things to say about her afterwards as well. We left for the hospital when my water broke and I was in transition, and she filled out the paperwork for me and talked to the admissions desk while I was having contractions. Turns out I was 9cm and quickly turned to 10 and ready to push. I ended up delivering totally naturally with no pain medication or medical interventions and had a successful VBAC! She advocated for me with the doctors and nurses regarding my birth plan as I was not able to think to tell them for myself. My doctor was not on call and the one who was did not seem fully comfortable with the idea of a VBAC and she was able to explain to the doctor on call that my doctor had approved it and that I was a good candidate. She also advocated for my comfort when the doctor wanted me in certain positions for delivery she respectfully negotiated with them and offered alternatives in order for me to deliver in a comfortable position. I felt that she was incredibly respectful in the delivery room and was able to navigate with ease the tricky line of advocating for the patient without stepping on the doctors or nurses toes. Afterwards she made sure the nurses were aware I wanted delayed cord clamping and immediate skin to skin. She throughout the process also somehow was able to take plenty of pictures for me to document my labor which I will treasure forever. She also checked in with me via text after a few days and again a few weeks later. I will absolutely be returning to Jennifer and Lonestar birth for my future babies and will recommend her to other expecting moms as well. Thank you Jennifer for helping me have an amazing and safe birth experience!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a phenomenal experience with Jennifer. She’s knowledgeable, patient and flexible and made herself available to all of our questions and appointments. Our pregnancy ended up being not as straight-forward as we had hoped but we felt confident in our decision making with Jennifer guiding us through it all. A true blessing!
